Mini croissant cereal is the newest trend and it’s a crime against humanity
Mini croissant cereal is the new viral recipe on TikTok and it looks pretty awful
There’s literally nothing that can beat the deliciousness of a croissant. It is perfect. Nothing about it needs to be changed or fixed. The Austrians knew what they were doing when they first made this (yep, it wasn’t the French!). But, of course, people on the internet insist on ruining everything and they have come for the precious croissant. Wijayaachrisine on TikTok has come up with a recipe for mini croissant cereal and it’s very upsetting.
At this point, we’ve seen mini pancakes, waffles, and cookie cereal, but now the trend has moved on to croissants and it’s shockingly not that difficult to make. Luckily, you don’t have to make the croissants from scratch. If you’ve ever done that, you know how difficult it is.

For this, you simply need to get some puff pastry from the grocery store and cut it into tiny triangles. Yes, puff pastry is not the same as croissant dough, but nobody needs to be rolling out dough and slabs of butter. You may have time on your hands while in lockdown, but making homemade croissants is probably not something you want to do.
Once you have your puff pastry cut, roll up the triangles to look like mini croissants and then place them in the oven.
Mini croissant cereal the latest craze on TikTok
After they come out of the oven, you mix together some peanut butter and Nutella and melt them together in the microwave. When that’s done, pour the mixture over the the mini croissants. Then you simply need to pour over the milk and you’re done.

I am highly skeptical that this tastes good or that it remains crispy or non-soggy for more than two minutes. Milk on top of flaky croissants does not seem like the best idea. Wouldn’t it turn into a gross mess in like 10.8 seconds?
The peanut butter and chocolate mixture… I don’t understand that either. It’s probably there for flavor but it just seems like more mess to mix with the mild. It would make more sense to put the croissants back in the oven to let the peanut butter chocolate mixture dry onto the croissant so they would stay crispier once the milk was poured on, but who knows? Maybe it’s delicious.
