Country music legend George Strait shares favorite recipes for his award-winning tequila Código 1530

Country Music Hall Of Famer George Strait is absolutely a fan of his tequila, Código 1530

Beyond landing 60 singles at the top of the music charts — which is reportedly more than any other artist in any genre — during the span of his nearly-40-year career, country music legend George Strait has collected 33 platinum-selling (or multi-platinum-selling) albums.

This has earned him more platinum-selling albums than any other country artist, while also ranking him third across all genres, behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

His musical career — in which George Strait has sold nearly 70 million albums and earned more than 60 major entertainment industry awards — isn’t his only commercial success, however. Strait is an investor within the Código 1530 brand of tequila. Among other recent accolades, the brand won a gold medal and “Tequila Producer Of The Year” honor at the 2019 Bartender Spirits Awards.

George Strait recently partnered with GrapeStars marketplace, the first-ever virtual direct-to-consumer sales channel for celebrity wines and spirits, to promote Código 1530. Related to such, he shared some of his favorite Código 1530-enhanced recipes, as printed below for Guilty Eats.

La Paloma

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Código 1530 Blanco tequila
  • 2 oz. fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 0.5 oz. lime juice
  • 2 oz. club soda
  • Garnish: Slice of grapefruit
  • Collins glass

Method:

  • In a shaker filled with ice, add tequila, lime and grapefruit juice.
  • Shake and strain into a Collins glass filled with ice.
  • Top with club soda.
  • Garnish with a slice of grapefruit.

Blanco Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Código 1530 Blanco Tequila
  • 1 oz. Triple Sec
  • 1.5 oz. lime juice
  • 0.5 oz. agave nectar
  • Rocks glass
  • Salt

Method:

  • Rim rocks glass with salt.
  • Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  • Shake and serve over ice.
  • Garnish with a lime.

Añejo Manhattan

Ingredients:

Method:

  • Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass.
  • Add ice and stir.
  • Strain into a glass and garnish with an orange twist and cherry.
