David Burtka and Keebler are celebrating National S’mores Day

August 10 is National S’mores Day, and every year we look for a new way to celebrate this tasty foodie holiday. And what better way to celebrate is there than with a collaboration between David Burtka and Keebler?

So what exactly is this collaboration? It is an epic duo of recipes featuring none other than the Fudge Stripe Cookies. Taking S’mores to the next level, Burtka and Keebler have taken one of our favorite ooey-gooey, melty treats and stepped it up a notch (or ten).

As part of an interactive experience, Keebler is hoping families will share with social media their attempts to create these decadent, s’mores inspired desserts.

Keebler and David Burtka give us an epic duo of s’mores inspired recipes

Taking s’mores to the next level, David Burtka teamed up with Keebler to create two ultimate s’mores dishes. So what are these recipes? They are the S’mores Cookie Bar and the S’mores Ice Cream Sandwich.

To create the S’mores Cookie Bar, Burtka takes us straight into the kitchen with a package of Keebler Fudge Stripe Cookies. This dish is made in the oven and requires mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, graham crackers, and of course the Fudge Stripe Cookies. To find the complete instructions to this recipe, check out the S’mores Cookie Bar recipe here.

The second recipe from David Burtka and Keebler is the S’mores Ice Cream Sandwich, which is actually an easy to do recipe that you can actually get quite creative with if you want. However, the initial recipe requires a quart of softened vanilla ice cream, mini marshmallows, graham crackers, and Fudge Striped Cookies. It’s really all about folding ingredients into the ice cream (in this case the marshmallows) and then sandwiching this new ice cream mix between two fudge striped cookies. You then take the graham crackers which you have crushed and coating the exposed ice cream. Check out the official recipe for the S’mores Ice Cream Sandwich here.
