Churchill Downs helps bring the magic of the Kentucky Derby home with these recipes
Churchill Downs shares menu and recipes for a Kentucky Derby party at home
If there is one thing we can seemingly count on every year, it is the magic of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. There is glitz, pageantry, and of course plenty of food. And for the second year in a row, we are also getting a chance to party at home with the help of a special Derby menu.
In a press release, we learned all about this years recipes that the Executive Chef of Churchill Downs, David Danielson, created for people at home to make on their own. And part of this experience includes a nationwide search for best Derby recipes.
And after finding some real winners, an Edamame Succotash with Mint Vinaigrette took the ultimate prize of being included on this year’s Churchill Downs at home Kentucky Derby menu. Considering how many of us are still staying home and avoiding large crowds, it feels like this menu is even more of a magical experience, especially with a recipe sent in from a Derby fan.
Churchill Downs releases this year’s Kentucky Derby menu at home recipes
According to Danielson, “The Kentucky Derby is a nationwide tradition that reaches far beyond the gates of Churchill Downs. With more fans watching from home this year, I was inspired to curate a menu of easy-to-make, at-home dishes that are a true reflection of the classics Derby-goers crave, so anyone can partake in the culinary festivities of the day.”
As a fan of the Kentucky Derby, I am excited to give their at home menu a chance. And thanks to the official website for the at home recipes, we can see exactly what the chef put together for us to enjoy for our Derby parties.
Among the dishes included in this menu are some decadent and surprisingly easy to create recipes such as the Skewered Chicken Kabobs with Mint-pistachio pesto, the Sweet Potato Hummus, Turkey Meatballs with Peach Hot Sauce, and the Olive Oil and Pepper-Marinated Watermelon Bites with Halloumi (this recipe actually comes to us courtesy of Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski, making this one feel even more exciting).
Honestly, every single dish created for this at home menu screams the magic of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby, and we can’t wait to give it a try! And if we happen to keep these recipes for the holidays, who could blame us.
