ABC gives us our first look at the Supermarket Sweep reboot

If you grew up watching game shows like Family Feud, Shop ‘Til You Drop, and more, then you probably remember the classic, Supermarket Sweep. And if you are anything like me, you wanted to be on the show, throwing everything in your cart for a chance to win money.

Following the news that the series would be getting a reboot with Leslie Jones as the host, we couldn’t wait for not only our first look, but also for a premiere date. And at long last, we finally know exactly when we can start watching our favorite run through the grocery store.

ABC announces that Supermarket Sweep will be back on our screens in October

So exactly when will Leslie Jones be on our screens with brand new episodes of Supermarket Sweep? According to Entertainment Weekly, the reboot will premiere on ABC on Oct. 18, and we absolutely cannot wait!

However, that’s not all we got, as we also had our first look at the series, which included plenty of shopping and all the magic we remember from when we were younger.

Unlike the original show, when the prize at the end of the episode was just $5,000 (plus whatever you made from your shopping sweep), this time around up to $100,000 is on the line. And once you watch the clip, you can see that even bigger items can be snagged to bring your shopping totals up. In fact, we even see someone bringing a grill to the register for a cool $300 added to their total sweep!

Even in this brief teaser, it’s clear that Jones is having a lot of fun as the new host of Supermarket Sweep, and we can’t wait to see her fully in action.
