Burger King in Taiwan serving chocolate Whopper

Sometimes, an April Fool’s Day prank becomes reality. At least it does at the Burger King in Taiwan. In 2018, Burger King joked that they were coming out with a chocolate Whopper. People were outraged, but it turned out it wasn’t real. Now that it’s 2020 and clearly anything that can happen will happen, the chocolate Whopper is back and it’s real this time.

The Burger King in Taiwan is serving a Whopper with chocolate sauce spread on the bun. While the prank in 2018 was a full-on dessert Whopper where the buns were made of chocolate and it was covered in raspberry sauce, this one is much closer to the original.

But this also isn’t the American Whopper you might be thinking of. This Whopper also comes topped with peanut sauce (why can’t we get that??), so the chocolate and the peanut sauce mix together which might not necessarily be a bad thing.

Burger King chocolate Whopper also includes peanut sauce

Yes, a burger with chocolate sauce spread on it does sound weird and awful but with the mixture of peanut sauce and maybe some bacon, this could work. No one thought chocolate and bacon would go together until they tried it. This could be a new delicious creation. Check it out here.

That being said, it is still Burger King, so don’t get your hopes up too high. It might be better to try this at home with your own burger recipe instead of the fast-food version.

There is no word whether this will come to the US or even to countries outside Taiwan. Given the response to it on Twitter, it’s not likely. Most people were not in love with the idea of chocolate and burger together. Despite the social media response, according to YahooLife, it’s selling really well.
