When are fast food restaurants open (and close) for breakfast?

When are your favorite fast food restaurants open (and closed) for breakfast? Here’s what we know!

Breakfast hours have always been confusing because each fast food restaurant has its own rules. Some even have breakfast available all day, which makes it so much easier for everybody. But since not all fast food restaurants do this, it’s tough to remember which ones.

The COVID-19 outbreak hasn’t necessarily helped us with knowing which fast food restaurants are open when. If anything, it has made things more complicated.

Take McDonald’s for example. After the coronavirus, they limited their breakfast menus — but only some locations. Which locations? It’s anyone’s guess. I usually just pull up at the McDonald’s closest to the place I’m going and ask if they are still serving breakfast.

Most of the time, I get a yes, but the breakfast menu is limited, but there have been a few times when they tell me no. Need some help? Join the club! We did some digging and here’s what we found.

When is fast food breakfast available?

  • McDonald’s: Most locations have their full breakfast available beginning at 5 a.m. and stop serving breakfast at 10:30 a.m. If you’re lucky, your local McDonald’s may be serving breakfast all day, though, or at least most meals.
  • Starbucks: Find breakfast menu items from open (usually 5 a.m.) to about 11 a.m.
  • Dunkin’: Start your day with breakfast from Dunkin’ as soon as they open and enjoy it all day at most locations.
  • Burger King: This fast food chain opens a little later than McDonald’s, and has breakfast available until around 11 a.m. at most locations.
  • Chick-fil-A: Breakfast is from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (most locations).
  • Sonic: Most Sonic locations have breakfast available all day.
  • Panera Bread: Most Sonic locations have breakfast available all day.
  • Taco Bell: Grab breakfast at Taco Bell starting at 7 a.m. (and available all day at most locations).
  • Whataburger: Breakfast is available as soon as they open, but wrap up at 11 a.m.
  • Jack in the Box: Enjoy breakfast all day, every day!
