Dunkin’ Donuts’ new Sugarplum Macchiato for the 2020 holiday season

It’s no secret, Dunkin’ Donuts is pretty famous for their super sweet coffees. How about this new Sugarplum Macchiato for the 2020 Holiday season?

During this time of year, we see all sorts of coffee places doing some serious peppermint mochas action, followed by egg nog lattes, and sometimes even gingerbread cappuccinos. Well, this year, Dunkin’ Donuts has decided to let those classic holiday flavors take the back burner!

This year, for the 2020 Holiday Season, Dunkin’ Donuts has come out with a brand new drink: A Sugarplum Macchiato! Sounds super sweet already, doesn’t it?! It’s being labeled as having some vanilla flavors mixed with some berry flavors, and while that does sound delicious, I’m not too sure how they would taste in a good ole latte.

Dunkin’ Donuts is bringing a new holiday-themed drink to the coffee and latte scene with their brand new Sugarplum Macchiato!

What exactly makes up this drink? Here’s your tried and true answer: Espresso, Milk, Vanilla, and Frosted Berry Sweetener (whatever that means/is). Now, don’t get me wrong, the light purple color is super pretty; however, I’m a little leery about having such a fruity flavor in my coffee.

Well, today, I tried it for myself! Here are some thoughts I noted about it!

• The purple color at the bottom is absolutely gorgeous
• The taste most definitely is a berry vanilla flavor (delish)
• The taste of berry vanilla mixed with coffee was a better mix than initially expected
• I was very pleasantly surprised

Now, usually when you try things, be it food or drinks, you ask yourself, or someone asks you “Would you order it again?” My answer: 100 percent yes. I’ll definitely be ordering one again before they’re gone for the season. Hopefully this will be a new edition to their permanent holiday menu for the future!
