Wawa is introducing a new line of Pita Sandwiches
By D. Goodman
The lunchtime menu at Wawa is growing once again as word has hit that the chain is introducing a new line of Pita Sandwiches.
Usually this time of year the big news when it comes to Wawa is the return of their popular perennial holiday hit, The Gobbler. On occasion you’ll hear news about free coffee if the Philadelphia Eagles are doing well, but this season, not so much.
So color us surprised when we found out that Wawa has decided to introduce a whole new line of sandwiches to their already expansive menu. And this isn’t just a one-off or a single special promotion. No, it looks like Wawa has decided to go all in on Pita Sandwiches.

Our pals over at Chewboom are reporting that the convenience store chain is introducing a new line of Pita Sandwiches. Think a classic Wawa hoagie except on a piece of pita instead of the iconic hoagie roll.
Much like the hoagies, the new Pita Sandwiches offer a dizzying amount of customization decision for the consumer. Bacon? Sure. Extra mayo? Why not? Onions and cheddar cheese? Whatever you say. However, for those already having a panic attack thinking about it, Wawa is offering four pre-built Pita Sandwiches so you don’t have to think that much.
There is the Classic Greek Gyro, which is exactly what it sounds like. There is also a Chipotle Turkey with Bacon pits, the Honey Mustard Ham option as well as a Roasted Chicken Caesar pita. All of them are pretty self explanatory and can be customized as you see fit.
Currently the new Pita Sandwiches are only going to be available for a limited time, but if history is any indication, if they prove popular enough, they’ll be back before too long.
What do you think pita lovers of the internet? Does the new line of Wawa Pita Sandwiches sound appetizing to you? Or are you strictly a hoagie person? Leave a comment below and let us know.
