Pepsi takes the wraps off new Pepsi “Cocoa” Cola
By D. Goodman
Pepsi has decided to get in on the winter drink game with a new flavor that evokes hot chocolate they’re calling Pepsi “Cocoa” Cola.
We all know that as soon as the calendar turns to fall and Halloween is on the horizon, foodies everywhere start to think about winter drinks and less about colas such as Pepsi. Hot Chocolate, flavored coffees and pumpkin everything. Starbucks and Dunkin’ have both been pretty aggressive this year with their offerings and we have reaped the rewards.
The problem is that it leaves the cola makers out in the cold. When sitting around the fire or hanging ornaments on the tree few people head to the fridge to grab an ice cold Coke. I mean, how many people do you see drinking soda in Hallmark Christmas movies?
So it should come as no shock that Pepsi wants to get in on the action in their own way.
Say hello to new Pepsi “Cocoa” Cola
Our fellow foodies at Chewboom are reporting that the soda maker is testing a new product they are calling Pepsi “Cocoa” Cola. It is the Pepsi you all know and love mixed with the taste of cocoa as well as marshmallow.
Honestly, we’re not really sure what to think of this. Could this even taste any good? Well, they are leaving up to their fans to decide. They have tweeted about the new Pepsi “Cocoa” Cola and said that if the tweet gets 2,021 retweets they will make the flavor available later this winter.
As of this writing the tweet has a long way to go before hitting the magic number but we’re pretty sure it will make it. Pepsi fans are fairly devoted and a soda that tastes like hot chocolate may sound disgusting, but we need to at least try it.
If the new “Cocoa” Cola does make it to a store shelf near you, you can be sure it will be for a limited time only. But if it’s a hit with fans we could be witnessing the birth of a whole new holiday drink craze. And you can help make it happen.
What do you all think? Does soda flavored like hot chocolate appeal to you or do you prefer your winter drinks with less fizz and more steam? Leave a comment and let us know or head over to our Twitter and join the conversation.
