When it comes to flavor and creativity, MTN DEW knows how to deliver. And we are not just talking about their soda anymore. In fact, thanks to their Big Bold Book of MTN DEW Recipes, we can create so many amazing dishes and desserts.

But, in honor of National Pie Day on Jan. 23, we have to turn to MTN DEW for some delicious pie recipes. With over 40 recipes in the book, is it any wonder that there is a recipe for pie in this cookbook? I would have been more surprised if pie was missing, especially considering how many unique flavors of the soda there are to choose from.

However, I think the ultimate pie for us MTN DEW fans would have to be a Cherry Pie made using the CODE RED flavor. Seriously, this pie is packed with cherry flavor inside a flaky crust. This is pie done right!

And the fact that you only need five ingredients (as long as you stick to store bought pie crust) means that this is probably the easiest pie you will make all year. Factor in the punches of cherry flavor and you have a winning pie all around.

Celebrate National Pie Day with MTN DEW

So what all do you need to make your MTN DEW CODE RED Cherry Pie? First you need a can (or bottle) of CODE RED of course. You will also need dark, cherries (frozen is what the recipe calls for), sugar, pie crust, and cornstarch. Honestly, this is one of the easiest shopping lists for a pie I have seen.

In a small saucepan, you will combine the MTN DEW CODE RED and the cherries and reduce over medium heat for about five minutes. In another bowl, combine the sugar and cornstarch and then mix into the cherries. Stir everything together well. Take the saucepan with your cherries and return to the stove top to heat over low heat while stirring.

Once the mix has thickened, let it cool and then it is time for pie crusts and baking. The recipe for this pie is actually relatively easy and quick, but if you want the full details from the exact measurements to the step by step instructions for a perfect CODE RED Cherry Pie, then I highly recommend snagging this recipe book.

As someone who has made plenty of pies in the past, this recipe is so easy that even someone with little pie baking experience will be able to make magic happen. And with these flavors coming together you are getting a perfect sweet treat with every bite.
