Wendy’s has a spicy new entry to the chicken sandwich wars

Wendy’s has a tasty-looking new chicken sandwich sure to wake up our taste buds.

As reported by Chewboom, the new Jalapeno Popper Chicken Sandwich has arrived. The sandwich which was launched just this Wednesday (Feb. 17) is sure to bring some heat to the chicken sandwich wars.

The Jalapeno Popper Chicken Sandwich begins with one of Wendy’s best menu items, the spicy chicken fillet. The fillet is topped with a creamy jalapeno cream cheese and six slices of jalapenos and pepper jack cheese for a little extra kick. Wendy’s did not forget the bacon lovers with this sandwich either. The sandwich also includes three slices of Applewood smoked bacon. If all this was not enough, the sandwich also has a warm cheddar cheese sauce to help keep the flavor and indulgence going.

The new sandwich is being offered at $5.99, but Wendy’s is treating everyone to a free sandwich via Grubhub. The weekend promotion starts on Thursday, February 18th, and will last until Sunday, February 21st. All we have to do is have a $15 minimum order through Grubhub and Wendy’s will throw in a free Jalapeno Popper Chicken Sandwich for all of us to enjoy.

If the free sandwich was not enough, you could also qualify for free delivery, so you may be out of excuses for not trying the sandwich while supplies and the offer lasts. If you like flavor, bacon, spice, or pumped-up chicken sandwiches, this may be the sandwich for you.

The new Jalapeno Popper Chicken Sandwich is available at participating Wendy’s locations nationwide. The timing is impeccable for Wendy’s with competitors McDonald’s and Burger King making headlines of late with new chicken sandwich war entries of their own.
