It would seem that the folks at Burger King have decided to make the Great Fish Sandwich War an international affair. They have introduced a new fish sandwich only available in their New Zealand locations and if we’re being honest, we’re currently checking to see how much it would cost to fly to New Zealand.
First, a public service announcement for all the foodies out there. For those wondering what the flying fig a “butty” is, let us explain. A butty is what folks in parts of Great Britain and New Zealand call a sandwich. Kind of like how some people call a sub a hoagie and the rest are wrong.
Now that that’s out of the way, we can share with you the amazing new sandwich (or butty) that Burger King has introduced in New Zealand. According to Chewboom, the new menu item is a Fish and Chip Butty and it sounds delicious.
The Fish and Chip Butty includes a fried fish patty topped with french fries (French fries!) and pickles as well as tartar sauce all on a sesame seed bun. Good lord does that sound good or what?
The Fish and Chip Butty is only available at Burger King in New Zealand.
But not only that, the Fish and Chip Butty is actually a new version of their Chip Butty, which is a french fry sandwich. A French. Fry. Sandwich. Why has no one thought to make one of those here? C’mon Burger King! Give the American people what they want. We could eat those by the bag full.
In addition, Burger King is also offering a Fish Burger, which is the same as the Fish and Chip Butty just without the french fries.
All of these new sandwiches are only available for a limited time and obviously, only in New Zealand. So what say we use social media for good for once and convince Burger King we really need these here. Because we need to try these. Seriously.
