The first thing almost everyone thinks of when you mention Dairy Queen is ice cream. Cones, Blizzards, bowls, cakes, ice cream in any number of varieties. For some the announcement of the new Blizzard of the Month is akin to a national holiday. Dairy Queen is ice cream.

So if you had told us that Dairy Queen would open their own front in the Great Fish Sandwich Wars, we would have told you that you were crazy.

However, that is exactly what has happened. Joining almost every other fast food chain this Lenten season, Dairy Queen has announced they are bringing back a fan favorite seafood sandwich for a limited time.

According to the dedicated foodies over at Chewboom, the Wild Alaskan Fish Sandwich is returning to Dairy Queen menus everywhere. The sandwich was a popular item the last time the chain made it available, so it makes perfect sense that they would bring it back (even for a short period of time).

The Wild Alaskan Fish Sandwich at Dairy Queen will only be available for a limited time

The Wild Alaskan Fish Sandwich includes a fried wild-caught Alaskan Pollock fillet and lettuce that is topped with tartar sauce all on a toasted bun.

And the best part of deciding to get one of these fish sandwiches this season? You can get a Blizzard for dessert! You’re already at Dairy Queen so it would be kind of silly not to, don’t you think?
