You can be forgiven if you thought all the fast food chains cared about was Lenten season and the ever expanding Great Fish Sandwich Wars. It feels like every day a new menu item arrives that puts a new spin on the idea. But Taco Bell is using the opportunity to return to an older conflict some of you may have forgotten about.
That’s right. Of course we’re talking about the Chicken Sandwich Wars that consumed foodie culture over the last few months.
Well, Taco Bell hasn’t forgotten and in fact, they have decided to open a new front in the ongoing battle. They’re giving a new chicken sandwich of their own a test run starting next month with the intention to launch it nationwide later this year.
Ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves for the Taco Bell Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco, coming to locations in Nashville, TN and Charlotte, NC starting March 11.
You can get your Taco Bell Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco with extra spice.
According to Chewboom, the Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco includes a Crispy Chicken Tortilla, which is what happens when you marinate all-white chicken in jalapeno buttermilk, season it in Mexican spices, roll it in crushed tortilla chips and fry it. Take that, add some chipotle sauce and put it on a piece of folded puffy bread so the whole thing looks like a taco.
And if you like your Taco Bell on the spicy side, you can also add crunchy jalapeno slices to give your Sandwich Taco some extra kick.
The new sandwich will only be available in those two locations for a limited time, so if you live in either prepare to hit up your local Taco Bell. The rest of us will have to wait until it is made available nationwide later in 2021.
