The Gourmet Girls — located in the Baltimore suburbs — knows a thing or two about local flavor.

Opening in 2007, the gourmet deli became a local lunch favorite. With sandwiches and breakfasts platters named after local Baltimore heroes, there’s something here for everyone.

The menu at The Gourmet Girls can be a little overwhelming with their massive selection. They have everything from Ray Lewis-inspired sandwiches (The Ray Lew-52) to tried and true BLTs.

Today I tried Karysa’s Kreation; Roast Turkey Breast, Crisp Bacon, Havarti Cheese, Ripe Avocado, Green Leaf Lettuce & Thousand Island Dressing on Toasted Ciabatta.

Inspired by local flavors, voracious eaters can enjoy crab cake sandwiches, bagels with lox, and more at The Gourmet Girls in Baltimore!

The size of this sandwich is nothing less than impressive. You won’t have room for any sides with this giant! On first bite I was immediately taken back to old school deli’s — the turkey was fresh, the avocado was ripe and tasted like summer. The addition of the Havarti cheese gave it a mild kick. The bacon was indeed crisp and added depth to this otherwise perfect sandwich. I even have the other half saved for dinner.

With a drink, I spent around $12, which for lunch can seem a little steep. But everything here is made to order — their other deli and bakery items are made in-house, guaranteeing quality and freshness. The Gourmet Girls also has an impressive selection of local beer, such as Heavy Seas and Union Craft Brewery. You can even find Guinness Blonde here — which is made in Baltimore! They even offer gift wrapping if you’re surprising someone special. The Gourmet Girls also offers catering, giving you a reason to impress your office with their amazing food.
