Recently, Yahoo! Life published an article listing the top 5 Eggo flavors. To put it briefly, their choices were 100 percent wrong. There is no way around it. To not have cinnamon toast or chocolate chip is borderline sacrilege to the frozen waffle gods. How dare they? Salted caramel? Really?

So, to make up for this injustice, we (AKA me) are making our own list of the best 5 Eggo flavors of all time. Let’s start with number five.

More from Breakfast

5. Blueberry

This is a classic and for a good reason. It’s delicious. If you like blueberry muffins but thought it would be better drenched in maple syrup, this is the waffle for you.

It also works if you want an easy way to make your house smell like blueberry muffins baking.

4. Apple Cinnamon

Another classic and for a very good reason. The combination of apples and cinnamon will never be a bad idea and these Eggos prove it. What better way to start the day than by having some warm apple cinnamon carb-y goodness in waffle form.

Oh and don’t forget the syrup and/or butter. It’s like apple pie for breakfast but in a more “acceptable” way. Although, if you want to eat apple pie for breakfast, I won’t stop you.

3. Thick & Fluffy

This where the Yahoo! Life writer and I agree. The Thick & Fluffy Eggos are absolutely delicious. Choose whichever flavor you want (although, I’m skeptical of the salted caramel ones). They are warm, fluffy, and delicious.

They’re not exactly like if you made them yourself using a waffle iron, but it’s the closest you’re going to get with the convenience of a frozen waffle. If you want a delicious waffle to put your syrup and/or fruit on or to serve with your fried chicken, but these are the ones you need to try.

2. Chocolate chip

It’s chocolate and carbs, what could be bad? The fact that the chocolate chips get melty in the toaster makes these particularly drool-worthy. It’s like having chocolate chip cookies for breakfast except no one will look at you funny if you pour syrup (either the maple or chocolate variety) on them. Are these particularly “good” for you? No, but they can make waking up for breakfast much more exciting.

1. Cinnamon toast

I am incredibly biased when it comes to this flavor. I grew up with my mom giving these to me in the morning before I went to school (probably explains my sweet tooth). But even with this bias, who can blame me for making this the top Eggo waffle of all time?

They’re warm, cinnamony, and sectioned into four pieces so they are fun and easy to eat. These don’t even need syrup; they are that good! They’re honestly just as good (if not better) as eating cinnamon toast for breakfast. Yum!
