There’s no denying that some of the best snacks came out during the ’90s, and that includes our favorite cookies-and-icing combo: Dunkaroos. Foodies were thrilled when these cookie packs made a return to stores last year, and it seems General Mills wasn’t done delivering exciting surprises. Starting this summer, another variety of this ’90s snack will be making a comeback: Chocolate Dunkaroos.
That’s right, foodies will be able to find the Dunkaroos duo consisting of vanilla cookies and chocolate frosting at select grocery and convenience stores. Among the chains that will be carrying them is 7-Eleven, so if you’re committed to finding a box, that might be the best place to look.
Chocolate Dunkaroos aren’t what you’d typically think of as a summer snack, but keeping a box on hand is a smart move for those of us who have a sweet tooth. Doing so is also destined to bring about some nostalgia for those of us who grew up eating these cookies. And who doesn’t love a little nostalgia to complement the warm weather?
Chocolate Dunkaroos officially arrive in July, so you’ll be able to get your dunk on throughout the summer season. For those who are really dedicated to getting their hands on these cookies, however, there is a way to snag them early.

Alongside the announcement that Chocolate Dunkaroos would be making a return, the brand also revealed it would be rolling out Dunkaroos New Frosting Tokens. There are 10 pieces of Dunkaroo-inspired digital art up for grabs, and the highest bidders will receive the artwork and an early taste of these cookies. If ever there was an incentive to get into digital art, this would be it.
Dunkaroos is also donating 100 percent of the profits from its NFT program to Feeding America — so you’ll be getting cookies and supporting an important cause.
