Ah summer. That time of year when thoughts turn to baseball, picnics and most importantly, ice cream. Thanks to climate change it’s already ridiculously hot in most of the country so ice cream and milkshakes have already become dietary staples. And Burger King is completely prepared to take full advantage.

They already have their regular assortment of milkshakes ready to go if you hit up the drive-thru, but if you’re fortunate enough to live in or around the Miami, Florida area, you may have a brand new option when you look at the menu.

They have taken one of their most popular items, the Hershey Sundae Pie, which has been thrilling dessert lovers for years, and taken it up a notch. They have combined it with ice cream to create the Hershey Pie Shake.

According to the ice cream fans at Chewboom, the Hershey Pie Shake has been spotted at various Burger King locations around the Miami area. Whether this is a test to guage reaction or a prelude to rolling it out nation wide isn’t known at this time.

The Burger King Hershey Pie Shake sounds awesome.

The new Hershey Pie Shake includes vanilla soft serve ice cream mixed with a Hershey’s Sundae Pie and then topped off with whipped cream. Don’t know what a Hershey Sundae Pie is? Take a chocolate crust, combine that with chocolate cream filling and then top it with whipped cream and Hershey’s Chocolate Chips.

They literally had me at soft serve ice cream. I’m debating driving to Florida right now to get one.

How long the Hershey Pie Shake will be available isn’t known but it’s a safe bet that it won’t be for long. However, if reaction is good then it shouldn’t take long for Burger King to roll out the frozen treat to the rest of the country. At least I really hope so.
