To celebrate National Ice Cream Day, Sensodyne has partnered with Baketopia host, Rosanna Pansino, for a special sweepstakes. And we had the opportunity to speak to Pansino about that partnership, her HBO Max series, and of course her love of ice cream.

We all know that while we love ice cream, it doesn’t always love us – or at least not our teeth. And that’s where Sensodyne steps in. Whether it is their ProEnamel line or their Complete Care, there is a Sensodyne for everyone. But just in time for National Ice Cream Day, the company and Rosanna Pansino are shining a spotlight on Sensodyne Rapid Relief, perfect for those pre-sundae preparations.

To celebrate National Ice Cream Day, Sensodyne is doing a “Live Every Mo-Mint” sweepstakes, which features a fun summer ready giveaway. Social media users in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago (check Sensodyne’s social media for more cities and details) who tweet #LiveEveryMoMint on National Ice Cream Day (July18), will win a small gift that includes a tube of Sensodyne Rapid Relief Toothpaste, a pair of sunglasses, a small cooler, a beach ball, and a trucker hat delivered the same day. (There is even more to this giveaway too, as “participants have the opportunity to win the grand prize: the ultimate backyard makeover- a blow up pool, ice cream maker, beach umbrella, cooler & 5 pints of ice cream.”)

And as part of this celebration of ice cream and ways we can enjoy it without pain, we had the chance to talk to Rosanna Pansino about her partnership with the brand, ice cream, and of course Baketopia!

Guilty Eats: What was your favorite part of filming Baketopia?

Rosanna Pansino: “That’s a tough question honestly because I really enjoyed everything about it. I realized something about myself that I didn’t know before, and it’s how much I miss being on set with a crew and being with a team, and making something like a show. That’s something that I really missed, and I didn’t realize how much I’ve missed it until we were doing it because I love making videos on YouTube. Something I love about it is it’s really like creative, it’s very creatively fulfilling.

GE: Are you hoping to do more [Baketopia]?

RP: “Yes, I loved making a show. I love the crew. I love the set. I loved our contestants, I love doing glam, I love hair and makeup. I would say that’s one of my guilty pleasures. I love hanging out with the glam team, and getting ready with them and all the different outfits and stuff and watching it all come together.”

GE:  I have to ask what made you decide to take part in this campaign with Sensodyne for National Ice Cream Day?

RP: “A few things. One, I love Sensodyne and it’s the toothpaste that I use. I’ve been using Sensodyne for over a decade. My dentist originally recommended it to me, because I have really sensitive teeth. I’ve always had sensitive teeth, it’s hard for me to eat cold things, you know, if we’re hanging out with friends oryou know we are at Disneyland and everybody’s biting into their ice cream bar and I bite into mine. This actually happened to me this is a true story. And you get that pain and you realize, okay, this is not good. So she recommended years ago that I try Sensodyne and I tried it, and I loved it, and my teeth sensitivity is kind of dulled. As a foodie, you know I’m getting cold things, hot things all the time. So it was just a perfect partnership because it’s a brand that I use, literally every day of my life, and National Ice Cream Day is coming up and as a foodie I celebrate almost every food holiday.

I bought this book, where it’s 360 days, almost every day is a food holiday, so I can’t celebrate that hard but yeah I have favorites bookmarked and ice cream day is one of them. So I was like okay when I think of ice cream I think of great recipes, but also think of my teeth. This is just a perfect fit. If anyone wants to celebrate those food holidays or enjoy like cold treats, and they have sensitive teeth like I do, I would recommend Sensodyne if they haven’t already, I would really recommend it because it’s made a big difference in my life.”

GE: What are your favorite flavors and creations with ice cream? Do you have something you love?

RP: “Mint chocolate chip. My favorite ice cream flavor, it has been since I was a little, little kid, and it still is today.

This year, I’ve been trying a lot of viral recipes that are on like Tik Tok and stuff, and I’m starting to test them so that my audience, my community knows which ones are really good and which ones aren’t. I can tell you two wins and a pass.

Everybody’s making these mason jar ice cream. They’re amazing. They actually work. The texture is just a lighter texture so it’s more like if whipped cream and ice cream had a baby, it’s right in the middle, it’s more dense than a whipped cream, but it’s not as thick as some of the more processed ice cream that you’d find at a grocery store. But it is delicious, and super easy. So we did that one, we did a cookies and cream. There was like four ingredients in the jar, shake it up, threw it in the fridge, and then let it chill for a couple of hours. I think it didn’t even need a full like six hour freeze it was like a couple hour freeze and delicious. It was like cookies and cream ice cream so that one was a win.

Then we made ice cream bread, this was the second win and this one was hot, so it’s again the teeth says it doesn’t matter if it’s cold or hot you get the zingers. But this one is two ingredients, self rising flour and ice cream. I was so skeptical because I’m thinking about the food science and we do it and I put it in a loaf pan, we bake it, and it comes out delicious.

And then the weird one, which we thought was a pass, it’s called cotton candy ice cream. And this one’s really popular, there’s tons of videos of people recreating it, but it tasted like bubble gum. That’s the only reason for me that it was a pass, because some people love bubble gum.”

Honestly, we could have chatted with Rosanna Pansino for hours about baking, ice cream, and just food in general. It was so much fun and we loved every second of our chat.
