This is not the first time we have shared news of food shortages at fast food chains. But now, Taco Bell is dealing with some Twitter beef over the lack of some favorite menu items.
As Mashed reported, the food shortages at Taco Bell run the gamut from 10 inch tortillas to chicken and beef. Even their iconic hot sauces are running low in select stores, and that doesn’t even take into account the fresh ingredients we expect to see on our tacos and salads. (Both lettuce and tomatoes seem to be running short too.)
With many media outlets seemingly panicking over the shortages, it is actually the Taco Bell lovers who are getting loud on social media. In a move that doesn’t surprise us at all, it seems that customers impacted by the Taco Bell shortages are taking to Twitter to complain.
Taco Bell is dealing with some Twitter beef over their current shortages
So what did the Taco Bell customers have to say on Twitter?
One user, @jenuhh124, let people who might want to head to the restaurant know, “i’ll save you the drive, they don’t have chicken or beef, national shortage or something. i just ate black beans in a hard shell. was not worth it.”
Another user expressed their sadness with the use of a Baby Yoda meme, because according to @Jamesdotgr, “Drove to the taco Bell just to find out they closed early.”
Someone else couldn’t get a Baja Blast because of a broken machine, and still someone else let us know that their restaurant had run out of mild sauce and there was a shortage on the product. To say they were unhappy about this shortage would be an understatement, since they used an angry Conan O’Brien meme.
At this point, it is clear that the Taco Bell shortages are hitting people hard. And while we understand the frustration, we are sure the workers are feeling the same way.
There is not much that Taco Bell or any of the restaurants faced with a shortage can do at this point but wait for things to come back into stock. But we can’t wait for that day to come so we can get our tacos and chalupas with all the fixings and sauces!
