The Grand Lux Cafe really knows how to deliver when it comes to amazing dishes and drinks. And in honor of National Mango Day (which is July 22), they are helping us celebrate the mighty mango in style – with a Mango Mule!

While not everyone lives near a Grand Lux Cafe (the sadness is real), that isn’t a problem if you want to celebrate National Mango Day at home. Thanks to the crafty bartenders at the restaurant, we have a recipe for their Mango Mule that will let us enjoy this epic fruit in style, whenever we want it.

So while we might be sad that we can’t hit up the Grand Lux Cafe for National Mango Day, at least we can enjoy a little taste of their mango magic right in the comfort of our homes. So break out the mangoes, play some Hulu (American Horror Stories anyone?) and enjoy this Mango Mule!

Grand Lux Cafe shares their Mango Mule recipe in honor of National Mango Day

You’ll need six ingredients for this mule, and hopefully you have everything you need to whip up this tasty treat.

What you need:

  • 1 Ounce of fresh mango (They recommend a mango that is either over ripened or perfectly ripe.)
  • 1 1/2 Ounces of Citrus Vodka (Their recommendation is Crop Organic Meyer Lemon.)
  • 1/2 Ounce of Orange Liqueur (One of their recommendations is one of our faves, Cointreau.)
  • 1/2 Ounce of Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 Ounce of fresh Lemon Juice
  • 2 Ounces of Ginger Beer (They recommend using Fever Tree Ginger Beer.)

What to do:

Using a mixing tin, add your mango, the Orange Liqueur, and the Citrus Vodka. Muddle the mango so that it infuses the flavors into the liquors. Add in your fresh lemon juice and simple syrup, as well as enough ice to get to the top of the tin. Cover the tin and shake well, they suggest shaking six to eight times to fully chill your ingredients and get everything mixed together. Uncover and then add in your ginger beer. The final step is to pour the mix into a Mule mug or even a pint glass, basically whatever glass you have on hand.

Honestly, this cocktail sounds amazing and we can’t wait to try it for ourselves. I love Grand Lux Cafe, but since they aren’t exactly nearby, sometimes you just have to make do with a recipe or two. And luckily, they have us covered with some of their favorites (and ours too).
