Much like foodies everywhere, we here at Guilty Eats have been going through a pretty severe case of Great British Baking Show withdrawal. You can only go so long without hearing Paul Hollywood talk about soggy bottoms and watching him handout handshakes without going a bit stir crazy.

Collection 8 (What we Americans would call Season 8) wrapped up way back in November of last year with Peter Sawkins winning the big prize. It was the first season with Matt Lucas taking over co-hosting duties from Sandi Toksvig and reaction from the fans was a bit mixed.

Fans of The Great British Baking Show, or The Great British Bake Off as it’s called in England, can be very possessive of the series. The show was called to task for not being quite as “warm and fuzzy” as previous seasons, too much innuendo and because one of the bakers (Laura) really didn’t deserve to be in the final.

Regardless, fans have been eagerly waiting for any news of Collection 9 and when we can expect to see it arrive on Netflix. Because with the world in the state that it’s in, we could all use some fresh Great British Baking Show in our lives.

Well we have some good news to share. It is being reported by Variety that it has been confirmed that Collection 9 will start streaming on Netflix later this year in the Fall of 2021. It is assumed that episodes will once again be available three days after they air in England.

Unfortunately, other then that there is little other news to share. It isn’t known if Matt Lucas will be returning, if filming has had to be altered once again due to the COVID-19 pandemic or the exact date the new season will premiere.

The only thing you can be certain of at this point is that Paul Hollywood will likely be back to glower at the contestants and complain about how they make bread.
