Back to school season is upon us, and that means it’s time to start planning things like what your student needs and maybe even what they will eat. And one thing we always need to have in our lunch box (or even our lunch bag as adults) is snacks.

No matter what type of snacks your are looking for, we have you covered this back to school season. And no, we aren’t just throwing in a mini snack pack of OREO cookies or Doritos (not that there is anything wrong with having those in the snacking rotation). Instead, for back to school 2021-2022, we want to try some new treats.

This is why we are about to introduce you to treats like Raisels Golden Raisins and Fannie May S’mores Snack Mix packs. If you are familiar with these treats that is awesome, but if not, we are hoping you find new snacks to fall in love with as we head into a new school year.

5 snacks to add to your back to school lunch rotation

Raisels Golden Raisins

Available in a number of Walmarts across the country, Raisels are a chance to eat fruit that reminds us of candy! Not only do these Golden Raisins come in a variety of flavors (seven to be exact), but you can even order a mix pack to get all those flavors at once. So what are the flavors?

The seven flavors of Raisels are: “Sour Watermelon Shock, Sour Lemon Blast, Sour Orange Burst, Sour Fruit Splash, Fiesta Pineapple Chili Limón, Tropical, and Raspberry.” And honestly, we loved them all! The flavors pop and really do make you think you are snacking on candy bites.

Fannie May S’mores Snack Mix

For the S’mores lovers out there, this Snack Mix from Fannie May is perfect for any and all lunch bags. But when you are getting ready for back to school, you really want something you can easily throw in the lunch sack and move on. Luckily for us, the S’more Snack Mix doesn’t just come in a resealable sack, they also offer smaller 2 oz bags that are perfect for on the go snacking.

But what is this snack mix? It is chocolate covered, bite size pieces of crunchy grahams and fluffy mini marshmallows. Pop a chocolate covered marshmallow and a chocolate covered graham in your mouth together and you have a s’mores-like experience. Or eat them a piece at a time. It doesn’t matter how you enjoy this snack mix, just enjoy it!

Fannie May Peanut Butter Pretzel Snack Mix

Not a smore’s fan, but love pretzels and peanut butter? Then you need this snack mix from Fannie May! Unlike the S’mores Snack Mix bags, this is less of a snack mix and more of a bag of pretzels filled with peanut butter and then coated in chocolate. These are just a burst of flavor in every bite and they are pure win!

If you want to add these to the lunch bag, you can either snag one of their 2 oz bags and throw them in with the rest of your meal or you can get one of their larger resealable bags and then portion them out across the week. Either way, these are an ultimate snack for back to school.

Favorite Day Candy Apple Fudge Coated Pretzels

Is there anything better than chocolate covered pretzels in your back to school lunch bag? How about making them Candy Apple Fudge Coated Pretzels?

These pretzels are available for a limited time at Target stores just in time for the Fall. And since these are a Fall flavor profile, that makes perfect sense. You’ll want to eat an entire bag, but don’t. Instead, break that bag up in little baggies and make sure you have enough to make it through the school week! It’s totally worth it!

See’s Candies Fruit Medallions

Sometimes you just need fruity flavors in a jelly candy to make your day better. And what is better than getting Fruit Medallions from See’s Candies? The answer is nothing!

If you are like me, then you know that there is just something about a small bag of fruity gummies that makes your lunch complete and also makes you smile. And no matter how old you are, See’s Candies Fruit Medallions are the perfect treat. Pack up your little snack bags with these Fruit Medallions and make every lunch a smile-worthy occasion.

3 honorable mention snacks to throw in your lunch bag for back to school

While the five snacks mentioned above are already a perfect fit for all five days of the school week, we couldn’t help but want to offer three more options just in case.

Up first is Famous Amos cookies. Grabbing a bag of their mini cookies and portioning them out is a great way to add a little sweetness to your lunch bag throughout the school year. The second treat is Cap’n Crunch Chocolatey Churro Bites! Available in individual packs perfect for tossing in the lunch bag and going, these bites are a delicious treat that is not too sweet but still satisfies the sweet tooth.

The final snack pulls double duty! And that snack is Life Multigrain Cereal in Chocolate. Obviously cereal is a good breakfast option when you need something quick, but with Life Cereal, you can also throw some in a bag and eat it as a snack on the go (no milk necessary). This is a treat that just feels perfect for back to school season, and we can’t help but throw it out there as our third honorable mention snack for back to school.

And honestly, we wouldn’t blame you if you grabbed everything so you can mix it up and have something different for every day of the week.
