A great lunch is a huge part of our school routine and more important than you may think. It can either boost or ruin our kid’s mood, and if the lunch isn’t nutritious or filling enough, they’ll be tired or hangry the rest of the day. Help your kiddo have the best day possible with an amazing lunch that includes these back to school lunch box must-haves.

Parents, don’t worry, all of these are parent-approved!

In my opinion, the secret to the perfect school lunch is variety! You have to mix a dry meal with a wet snack and vice versa. A good example is pairing a peanut butter & jelly sandwich with yogurt or apple sauce pouch. And always remember to rotate their favorite snacks.

Need a few ideas? We’ve got several! From new, healthy brands, to fun and unique flavors.

5 our favorite back to school lunch box must-haves

Soozy’s Grain-Free

Do you know what every kid wants to see in their lunch box? Cookies! That’s right, but not just any cookie. We recommend Soozy’s Grain-Free. The brand creates grain-free baked goods with whole, recognizable ingredients that also don’t include gluten, dairy, soy, peanuts, gums, or sugar.

Mary’s Gone Crackers

Love to include plant-based snacks in your child’s meals? Mary’s Gone Crackers is perfect! Flavors include Garlic Rosemary and Sea Salt, check them out HERE.

Pizza Bites from Snow Days

Who doesn’t love Pizza Bites? However, we all know pizza isn’t the healthiest meal or snack, but Pizza Bites from Snow Days are! The brand caters to health-conscious consumers, creating grain-free, organic pizza bites with zero added sugars and preservatives. Best of all, they are packed with over 10g of protein and 7 different types of vegetables. Learn more about Snow Days, HERE.

 Bush’s Bean Chips

These bean chips are plant-based chips, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, and Kosher. They pack four grams of fiber and four grams of protein per serving, so not only do they not pack fat or sugar, but they’re good for you, too!

The company uses black and navy beans, along with a combination of herbs and spices to create these crunchy treats. Our two favorite flavors are Spicy Queso Cheddar Sour Cream.

Kellogg’s Jumbo SNAX

For our final snack, we’re switching gears a bit. Yes, sugary cereal, but in small portion and also a flavor your child knows and loves — you can’t go wrong with it!

These are meant specifically for snacking, and one small bag will do the trick just fine! I have already shared these with my 6-year-old and also included it as the side for his lunch, he’s a huge fan of the Corn Pops and Apple Jacks.
