10 dishes to try next time you’re at Applebee’s

I’m sure most of the world knows the song “Fancy Like” by Walker Hayes at this point. And if you don’t then good for you because I’m not so much sold on the song in all honesty, even if it does mention Applebee’s and Wendy’s.

However, the fact that the song does mention the restaurant Applebee’s in it gives the eating establishment some much deserved attention and increased popularity as well.

Here, we’re going to be going over the top ten dishes to try next time you find yourself feeling ‘fancy like’ over at your local Applebee’s!

1. Breadsticks with Alfredo Sauce

Imagine this….garlic butter brushed breadsticks, creamy alfredo dipping sauce. In my opinion, not much sounds better than this to me.

The breadsticks are super flavorful (and hot btw, so be careful). The alfredo sauce is one of the creamiest that I’ve personally tried….ever. Honestly, I never would’ve thought to put the two together. So, Applebee’s, from me to you….thank you!

2. BBQ Boneless Wings

These are a wonderful part of Applebee’s’ 2 for $22 deal as the appetizer portion. I’ve personally only ever tried the BBQ flavor, and boy were they good.

They are super flavorful, and super saucy (which is something that I’m personally a huge fan of, so if you’re like me in that respect, then you’re in luck with this one over here)!

3. Chicken Tenders Plate

With this, you get a smaller portion, as opposed to the platter version of this dish; you also get a side of fries and your choice of dipping sauce (my personal faves are ranch, BBQ, and honey mustard). If you’d like the bigger portion (the platter), then you’ll also get coleslaw along with it as well.

Personally, the last time that I had this, it was kind of disappointing, but the fries alone are worth ordering this, and the ranch too of course.

4. Four Cheese Mac ‘n Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders

First of all, I’ve never personally seen mac ‘n cheese made with Penne pasta noodles; however, the fact that this delectable-looking creamy sauce, mixed with a seemingly smoky and slightly spicy crispy chicken tender(s) sounds like the ultimate delicious take on a classic comfort food dish!

5. Whiskey Bacon Burger

I, along with my boyfriend, am a huge sucker for a BBQ bacon (cheese)burger; in fact, any chance we get, we like to order them and try them from wherever it is that we may go! This burger not only has crispy onion straws and bacon on it, but the BBQ sauce itself is infused with some hot and delish Fireball Whiskey as well!

6. Grilled Oriental Chicken Salad

I’m always in and could go for a nice and fresh chicken salad; in fact, with the Oriental element added into it, with the peanut sauce and crispy wontons on top, it really does put it all together into one nice and big salad.

Good news! Not a fan of just a salad? Don’t worry! They have this in wrap form as well, so eat up!

7. Chicken Fajita Roll-Up

Chipotle chicken with mexi-style ranch sauce, all wrapped up in a tortilla with some fresh and crispy lettuce? Yes please! This dish will give you all the Tex-Mex feels for less guilt!

8. Bacon Cheddar Grilled Chicken Sandwich

First of all, they had me already with just the bacon and the cheddar cheese on a sandwich; however, what’s the sauce that they top it all off with? BBQ Ranch….Enough said!

9. Blackened Cajun Salmon

Personally, I’m a big fan of salmon. Smoked salmon, teriyaki salmon, lox and onion bagel sandwich. You name it salmon-related, I’m in. Blackened chicken and blackened salmon is something that has so much flavor whenever you cook it/grill it. My mom makes a killer blackened salmon (so watch out, Applebee’s, shout out to you, Mom).

If a super peppery bite of salmon just isn’t your thing, just ask for it plainly grilled. Still great!

10. Three Cheese Chicken Penne

Our final thing here just sounds amazing. These four words are something that no matter how you put it or cook it, it’ll be delicious. I mean, come on. What’s better than creamy pasta sauce, pasta and all mixed together with some freshly grilled chicken and tomatoes and parm cheese.

Plus, it’s also served with a signature breadstick (make your own appetizer with this dish).
