OREO’s Pokémon cookies will make you want to eat ’em all
Who’s that Pokémon? That’s what we’ll be asking ourselves when we start chowing down on OREO’s newest cookie collaboration, which places some of our favorite fictional creatures on one of our favorite real-life snacks. (Can you dream up a better pairing?)
OREO teased a Pokémon collaboration back in June, but the company is finally launching its limited-edition cookies — and trainers will have to work hard to find every new design.
In total, there will be 16 different Pokémon OREOs. The catch? Not all of them will be easy to track down.
Just like in the popular Nintendo games, certain Pokémon will be harder to find than others. Fans might have to go through a few packs of cookies before getting their hands on one with Mew. In fact, the legendary Mew is the hardest cookie to find, so don’t be discouraged if you barely get a glimpse!
OREO hasn’t revealed all 16 Pokémon that will show up, but it did confirm the Gen 1 starters will all be available. Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur feel like obvious additions to such a campaign. With these limited-edition cookies, you can choose your starter all over again.
OREO’s Pokémon packs are available to preorder on the company’s website starting Sept. 8, and they’ll make their way to retail stores on Sept. 13.
OREO and Pokémon celebrate partnership with an art installation
To celebrate the launch of their collaboration, OREO and Pokémon have placed an art installation on the Venice Beach Boardwalk in Los Angeles, Calif. According to a press release, it will feature a mural made up of 8,000 3D replicas of the Pokémon x OREO cookies. Together, they’ll create a huge Pikachu design that’s definitely worthy of an Instagram post or two.
The installation will remain in place until Oct. 3, giving local trainers more than enough time to grab a pack of cookies and visit. For those who won’t be able to get there, watch the company’s social media channels — you might just catch a glimpse.
Will you be checking out OREO’s newest collaboration? What Pokémon do you hope to catch?
