Year after year, Dia de los Muertos has been a major part of the El Pollo Loco story. And in 2021, they are once again celebrating with not only a deal, but something even more special – artwork.

According to a press email from El Pollo Loco, on November 1 the restaurant chain “is giving away two personal sized loaves of traditional Pan de Muerto bread with every Familia Dinner purchase.”

For anyone unfamiliar with Pan de Muerto bread, this is a sweet Mexican bread that typically uses anise and orange blossom to add a unique flavor to the table. And it makes sense for the chain to offer this bread with their Familia Dinner, as this sweet flavor profile works well with grilled chicken, which is exactly what you get with this dinner.

So what exactly comes in the Familia Dinner? Well it comes with their fire-grilled chicken (which is always delicious), plus it has flour tortillas, beans, and rice. And it comes in two sizes, depending on how much chicken is needed. At the same time, there are also dips/salsas that come with these meals. So it really is a complete family dinner.

El Pollo Loco is honoring Dia de los Muertos with a tasty addition to our Familia Dinner

On top of giving away Pan de Muerto bread with the Familia Dinner, El Pollo Loco is taking their celebration of Dia de los Muertos to a whole new level in 2021.

For this year’s celebration, El Pollo Loco commissioned Steve Martinez, a Los Angeles artist to paint a mural for one of their buildings.

If you happen to be near the Inglewood location in Los Angeles, you can see the mural that commemorates Dia de los Muertos. Plus, the art doesn’t stop at the side of the building. The chain is also selling two limited edition gift cards. The gift cards feature artwork that represents this special holiday.
