Is Amazon Prime Now delivering on Thanksgiving 2021?

Halloween has candy and Christmas has cookies, but the holiday that is really all about food is Thanksgiving. It doesn’t have spookiness or holiday cheer. It just has food and that means lots of cooking and buying ingredients. But if you forget something at the store, can you have it delivered via Amazon Prime Now?

According to Heavy.com, Thanksgiving is one of the holidays that Amazon delivery services are shut down. It also notes that Thanksgiving is one of the paid holidays Amazon employees receive each year.

The other paid holidays they receive include Christmas, the Fourth of July, New Year’s Day, Labor Day, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

So if you forget the pumpkin pie spice or the jar of cranberry sauce at the store, you won’t be able to rely on Amazon to get it to you on Thanksgiving. You’ll either have to go without it or hope there is a store open on Thanksgiving that you can run to.

Amazon Prime Now not delivering on Thanksgiving

You also have to pray they still have what you’re looking for. With the supply chain the way it is, once the pumpkin pie spice and cranberry sauce are off the shelves, the chances of the store getting it back in stock is not good.

Amazon’s delivery service will be back on Black Friday so if you have any holiday presents on their way before then, they might arrive on that day.

But just because Amazon Prime Now isn’t delivering on Thanksgiving Day doesn’t mean you can’t order from Amazon. Their website is open 24/7. You just won’t be able to have things delivered the day of.

Amazon Prime Now usually involves drivers going to Whole Foods to pick up the items you’re looking for and while Whole Foods is open on Thanksgiving this year, how long they’re open depends on each store. So even if Amazon Prime Now was delivering, if your local Whole Foods is closed, you wouldn’t be getting your items anyway.

So before you leave the grocery store, make sure you double-check your list and confirm you have everything you need in your shopping cart.
