Did you forget to pick up butter? Are you missing a dessert? Don’t have enough coffee? Then you might be looking for which grocery stores are actually open on Thanksgiving.

It doesn’t matter how organized we are, inevitably we forget something every year. And whether we are cooking for two or ten, grocery shopping for Thanksgiving or really any holiday feels like an obstacle course to be maneuvered through. Even with a list in hand, things happen, things are sold out, and we just forget to put that onion in the cart or bag at the end of the grocery store run.

So when Thanksgiving morning rolls around and we get down to the cooking and baking, we realize we need to make a grocery store run for “one more thing.” So the big question is which stores are open for those last minute needs?

Which grocery stores are open on Thanksgiving?

According to Offers.com, there are actually quite a few stores that will be opening up on Thanksgiving, although many will have reduced hours for the holiday.

  • Albertsons – While Albertsons says they will be open, you may want to check with your local store for their holiday hours.
  • Food Lion – While these stores will be open, they will be closing early, with some stores saying they are closing by 4 p.m.
  • H-E-B – H-E-B shoppers rejoice! The store will be open on Thanksgiving Day, but with very reduced hours. They will be opening their doors at 6 a.m., but they will close noon.
  • Kroger – Near a Kroger? Then you are in luck because they will be open on Thanksgiving, although we recommend checking their hours.
  • Winn Dixie – We checked the closest Winn Dixie locations by us and not only were they open, but they are open almost their normal hours. We still recommend checking your local store for what time they open and close.
  • Fred Meyer – Locations will be open, but they will have reduced hours. Once again, check with your closest store to see when they open and close.
  • Stop & Shop – As Good Housekeeping shared, Stop & Shop locations will be open on Thanksgiving. And while we still would check local store hours, they are reporting regular business hours for the holiday.
  • ShopRite – Much like Stop & Shop, ShopRite is reporting regular business hours for the holiday.
  • Safeway – Need to shop? Safeway has you covered this Thanksgiving.
  • Save A Lot – While Save A Lot will be open on Thanksgiving, they are closing early, with stores apparently closing their doors by 3 p.m.
  • Wegmans – Another store that is open on Thanksgiving but closing early is Wegmans, which will apparently be closing their doors by 4 p.m. on November 25.
  • Weis Markets – Much like Stop & Shop and ShopRite, Weis Markets is reporting normal business hours for the holiday.
  • WinCo – While WinCo will be open on the holiday, they will be closing early with doors shutting by 3 p.m.

So if you need to hit up the grocery store for a last minute shopping trip, at least we have some options.
