While much of the real celebrating happens on New Year’s Eve, as we get ready to say goodbye to one year and hello to another, shopping needs pop up on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. And that’s why we need to know if one of our favorite grocery shopping destinations, ALDI, will be open on New Year’s Day (especially on New Year’s Day).

As we ring in a whole new year, things happen, including realizing that we are out of some of our staple groceries. And for many of us, we are getting ready for resolutions and a new year, new us. So we need ALDI to help us stock the cabinets.

This leads us to our next question. Are we going to be able to get our grocery shopping done on January 1 if we head to ALDI?

Will ALDI be open on New Year’s Day?

According to the store’s FAQ page, the answer is no. ALDI will not be open on New Year’s Day. And not only that, but if you need last minute goodies for New Year’s Eve, you will want to get there early because they will be operating with reduced hours on December 31.

Basically, if you need to get some shopping in before the new year starts or before any New Year’s Eve shenanigans, you’ll want to get to ALDI either early on December 31 or even in the days leading up to the first.

Of course, you could always wait until January 2 to get any shopping done or check out other stores that may be open on January 1. Either way, just make sure you are not heading out to ALDI on New Year’s Day.
