Ask fast food fans about the onion rings available at your local Burger King and you’ll normally egt one of two reactions. They will either say they love them like their own children or hate them with the passion of the burning sun.
When it comes to Burger King onion rings, there is not a lot of grey area. You’re either a fan or you’re not. Me? I’m a fan. Sure they don’t have any actual onion in them but that doesn’t mean they aren’t delicious and don’t go great with a Whopper.
So the latest news coming from the intrepid food reporters over at Chewboom is sure to have those of us who are fans of Burger King onion rings a bit upset. Because once again, another part of the world is getting to try something that would be a huge hit and immensely popular here in the United States.
What is it this time I hear you asking? Is it another new sandwich? No, Burger King is taking their onion rings and giving them a makeover. Now you can get your Whopper with a side order of Beer Battered Onion Rings. But only in, wait for it… New Zealand.
Burger King Beer Battered Onion Rings will only be available for a limited time.
The new Beer Battered Onion Rings are exactly what they sound like. It features those classic Burger King onion rings except they’re coated in beer batter and then fried. And while the regular rings are pretty great, it’s hard to imagine that they aren’t significantly better with beer batter.
Of course, no one will be able to find out for themselves unless they live in New Zealand. Which sucks. And since they’re only available for a limited time, there’s literally no way to try one before they’re gone. Again, which sucks.
However, since this is such a stupid brilliant idea, Burger King fans here in the States can hope that the chain will see their way to make them available for the rest of the world to try. It’d be kind of silly not to.
