On February 1, Pillsbury Funfetti released their latest innovation nationwide – Funfetti Donut Mixes. It’s an opportunity to have some fun at home by baking or frying up a tasty treat.

Available right now in three flavors – Unicorn Pink Vanilla, Funfetti Cake, and Chocolate Cake – these mixes give home bakers a chance to try their hand at baking donuts at home with glazes and everything.

And while we love all three of the new donut mixes, there are definitely a few things to keep in mind if you decide you want to make donuts at home with Pillsbury Funfetti.

Pillsbury drops their new Funfetti Donuts boxed mixes in stores nationwide

The biggest thing for anyone looking to make these donuts at home is that you really do need a donut baking sheet. While they offer up the idea of using mini muffin tins to make donut holes, the reality is that you’re basically making mini Funfetti cupcakes if you use the mini tins. And without the donut pan, you’re not going to be able to make the donut shape.

Because of the consistency of the baking mix, the baking option won’t necessary work without the correct baking sheet.

Of course, if you do decide to fry up your donuts, you’re more likely to get donut holes or even full on donut shapes depending on your frying technique. And yes, there is also an option on the box for using an air fryer, but again, even the box recommends having that donut baking sheet for that as well.

But even if you just end up with glazed mini muffins, these mixes help you create a truly delicious treat for any Pillsbury Funfetti fans out there. It was easy enough to make, whether we are talking about mixing up the batter or the glaze that even if they don’t look like actual donuts or donut holes, they are still going to be an easy and tasty treat to make all year long.

Have you found the Pillsbury Funfetti Donuts mixes in a store near you? What do you think of these new boxed mixes? Will you be giving these a try yourself? We want to know.
