Everything we know about Next Level Chef Season 2
By D. Goodman
Last week saw Pyet DeSpain become the first ever Next Level Chef, taking out all the competition and taking home the quarter of a million dollar prize. In addition, she won a priceless year of mentorship from Nyesha Arrington, Richard Blais and Gordon Ramsay.
The series was a hit for Fox, bringing in solid to spectacular ratings every week, including two shows that aired after the NFL Playoffs. Next Level Chef was also a great performer in the area of streaming, where it saw great numbers on both Fox Now and Hulu.
So it shouldn’t be shocking to find out that Fox has already renewed the series for a Season 2. The news broke just before the finale aired and was reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Of course if you watched the finale, you already knew the series would be back thanks to the brief ad that let everyone know that Ramsay and Next Level Chef are taking applications to be on Season 2.
Fox is now taking applications for Next Level Chef Season 2.
The application asks a lot of questions of a prospective contestant, such as their cooking style, where they learned to cook and if anything about the kitchen bothers them. It’s likely similar to what cooks who apply to be on Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef have to go through and seems standard for a Fox reality program.
Next Level Chef was the first project out of the gate under Ramsay’s massive deal with Fox which he signed in August of last year. It joined the long list of other Ramsay productions, including the aforementioned Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef and MasterChef Junior.
Other than those two bits of information, there is nothing else known about Season 2. At this point we don’t know if both Blais and Arrington will be back, if they will possibly add a fourth level (because why not?) or if it will premiere around the same time next year.
