Burger King debuts Peanut Butter Stacker in South Korea
By D. Goodman
Here at Guilty Eats we’ve talked extensively about how most fast food chains seem to release the really out of the box, innovative ideas everywhere but in the United States. And then you have Burger King, which has taken crazy to another level.
There’s been the Franken Whopper which was released in Canada. There was the monstrous Tokyo Teriyaki Tower Burger and then the even more monstrous Big Mouth Burger which were both available in Japan.
And now it seems that South Korea is getting in on the “What the hell is Burger King thinking” action with the news of the new menu items that have been introduced there. Because two things that most people don’t put together are burgers and… peanut butter?
But that is exactly what those peanut loving fools over at Chewboom are reporting. Burger King in South Korea is going all in on peanut butter with the introduction of the new Peanut Butter Stacker and Peanut Butter Fries.
What exactly is in a Burger King Peanut Butter Stacker?
So by now we’re sure you want to know just what is a Burger King Peanut Butter Stacker. Glad you asked. It includes a pair of grilled beef patties as well as mayo, American cheese and pickles on a sesame seed bun. It also includes a peanut butter sauce made with a combination of peanut butter and brown cheese.
Now, we’re not one hundred percent sure what “brown cheese” is, but just go with it for now.
The Stacker is also available in a Beef and Chicken variety where one of the beef patties is replaced with a crispy chicken patty and the American cheese is left off. Because obviously putting a slice of cheese on the Beef and Chicken Stacker would just be silly.
Then there are the Peanut Butter Fries, which takes everything you love about Burger King French Fries and covers them with the aforementioned Peanut Butter Sauce.
Now, would any of these items sell in America? Who knows? In a country were the McRib is like a religion and scrapple is a thing, the Peanut Butter Stacker would probably find an audience here. But until then if you want to try it, you have until May 8 to book your flight because that’s when the peanut butter party will be over.
