Krispy Kreme is matching a dozen donuts to US average gas prices

Beginning on April 13, 2022, Krispy Kreme will be making possibly one of the most strategic marketing moves that they could’ve ever thought up.

At participating shops throughout the United States, the famous, beautifully glazed donut shop will be taking the average price of a gallon of gas in the US from now until May 4, only on Wednesdays, and lowering the price of a dozen Original Glazed to match it all up.

If you’ve ever had that classic hump day or mid-week slump, maybe a cheap but delicious dozen Original Glazed Krispy Kreme donuts will make your day (I know that they’d make mine for sure).

Here’s what the Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme had to say about all of this:

"“While Americans deal with the rising PPG – price per gallon – of gasoline, we’re lowering our PPOG – price per Original Glaze.”~ Dave Skena, CMO of Krispy Kreme"

Within the past few years or so, Krispy Kreme has realized that families are going through some hard times, being forced to make some very tough either or choices as well. While some of us may not have to go through all of this, it’s important that we all, including big companies such as Krispy Kreme, recognize that we’re all one unit and need to help one another through those super tough times.

Skena also stated that “…share some smiles during a difficult time…A dozen Original Glaze Doughnuts for the price of a gallon of gas will help our fans…”.

As of today, April 13, 2022, the average PPG of gas in the United States sits at a high of $4.11 but that will certainly change over time, some states and areas being less and some being way more.

While the gas prices change, so will the price of the doughnuts. Each Monday, Krispy Kreme will announce the price of their OG dozen and on its Facebook page!
