Whisps Cheese & Pretzel Bites are here for National Pretzel Day

Whisps has been providing us with cheese snacks since 2019 when it was founded. They started with cheese crumbs and cheese crisps but for National Pretzel Day, they are adding a new product to their lineup: Cheese & Pretzel Bites.

Starting Tuesday, April 26, 2022, Whisps Cheese & Pretzel Bites will be available in two flavors: Honey Mustard and Cheddar. There will also be at least one other flavor, Everything (like the bagel), but that will be coming in a couple of weeks.

According to Whisps, the pretzels are “clean label” and are combined with100 percent real aged Parmesan or cheddar cheese depending on the flavor.

I was able to try samples of all three of the flavors and you are definitely going to want these. They are very cheesy and the pretzel adds the perfect contrast to all the flavors. And as always with Whisps, none of the cheese is processed!

Whisps introducing new Cheese & Pretzel Bites

They are especially great if you’re looking for a crunchy snack that isn’t a potato chip. The little snack bites have 7-8 grams of protein and zero grams of sugar.

Besides getting to try the new pretzel and cheese bites, I also got to talk to Elizabeth Doval, the Brand Director of Innovation at Whisps. When I asked how they came up with these flavors and what made them come up with a pretzel snack, Doval said:

"Everybody loves a good salty snack, and pretzels are America’s second favorite. So we used our high standards and obsession with quality to bring 100% real cheese together with clean label pretzels to create a poppable snack that’s completely new and unlike anything anyone has tried before…and unlike anything on the market now.As far as flavors go — Cheddar is a favorite of Whisps fans everywhere, being one of our core, original Crisps flavors. And, to celebrate our entrance in a brand new category — one that’s known for honey mustard and mustard dipping sauces — we decided to give Honey Mustard a try, as well, bringing real honey and mustard to the mix to create a truly balanced flavor. Because what can’t be improved by adding cheese?!"
