Do you know how you will be celebrating Mother’s Day this year? In this week’s edition of Thirsty Thursday, we are sharing some cocktails that you can create to honor the special women in your life. If you’re hosting a brunch or dinner on May 8th, try whipping up one of these beverages.
(And yes, these are good for just a regular Thirsty Thursday too.)
Make mom one of these special cocktails for Mother’s Day!
While we may all be familiar with Grey Goose vodka, I only recently discovered that they make a line of Essences: vodka infused with real fruit and botanic essences. There are three varieties in the line including Strawberry & Lemongrass, Watermelon & Basil and White Peach & Rosemary.
Bloody Marys and mimosas are classic brunch cocktails. But how about toasting mom by whipping up a Strawberry Fields cocktail? Incorporating Grey Goose Essences Strawberry & Lemongrass, this is a perfect springtime beverage, made with just four ingredients.
"Strawberry FieldsIngredients:1 ½ oz Grey Goose Essences Strawberry & Lemongrass4 ½ oz Soda WaterMartini & Rossi Sweet VermouthLemon WheelMethod: Rinse wine glass with Martini & Rossi Sweet Vermouth. Build in a wine glass over curbed ice. Garnish with a lemon wheel."
For our second Mother’s Day cocktail idea, how about something a bit frostier? The D’USSÉ Frosé will be sure to please. This cocktail is made with D’USSÉ VSOP Cognac.
Readers may be familiar with the brand’s co-founder, Shawn Carter, better known as Jay-Z. This French cognac is naturally aged for four and a half years. Online reviews of the cognac note its smoothness and sweet finish. It’s recommended to use both for mixing and sipping. Try mixing up a batch of the below cocktail, which may end up being your signature summer cocktail. Incorporating seasonal produce, this is a fruity and refreshing drink!
"D’USSÉ FroséIngredients:1 Part D’USSÉ VSOP Cognac3 Parts Maison Marcel Rosé (or other French off-dry Rosé)1/2 Part Simple Syrup2 Fresh Strawberries2 Cubes Fresh Watermelon1 Cup IceMethod: Add all ingredients into a blender, Blend until frothy. If needed, add water for a smoother texture. Pour into a stemless wine glass."
Guilty Eaters, which of these cocktails will you be making for the special mom in your life? Will either of these drinks be part of your summer sipping too? Let us know in the comments.
