At Guilty Eats, we crave a hot (or cold) cup of coffee from Starbucks daily! Coffee and tea lovers depend on Starbucks for their morning pick-up, or to end the day with — or both! But this Monday, May 30, is a holiday, Memorial Day, are locations open? Here’s what we know and hours of operation.

In America, Memorial Day is a day to observe those who have died serving the military. Americans honor the bold and the brave who protected and served our country. Many employees are off on this day, so this means that many restaurants could be closed.

We do know that schools and public libraries are closed on Memorial Day. Banks are not open for business, either. Also, don’t expect any mail deliveries, you’ll have to wait until Tuesday. I know that may be a bummer, but here’s the good news: Starbucks is open!

Memorial Day is a very important day, but it’s not a holiday that the majority of fast food places or restaurants observe. While independent and small location do close their doors, major chains are open and ready to serve. Be sure to check your local Starbucks online before heading over, some could have different operation hours. However, for the most part, all locations are open.

In fact, according to Holiday Shopping Hours, there’s no holiday Starbucks closes its doors for. They adjust their hours of operation to give their employees a break, but they are most definitely in business.

Other shops that are also open and serving coffee (just in case you miss your Starbucks stop), include Dunkin’, McDonald’s, Burger King, Jack in the Box, and Scooter’s Coffee, just to name a few.
