There has been a fight between the East Coast and the West Coast since the beginning of time and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. Food Network is exploiting that rivalry for their latest show, Beachside Brawl, and the results are bound to be delicious.

Starting on Sunday, June 19, 2022, chef Antonia Lofaso will be challenging cooks from both coasts to see who creates the best summer food. There will be two groups of four led by chef Tiffany Faison (East Coast) and chef Brooke Williamson (West Coast).

Both captains will mentor the four cooks on their teams as well as cook alongside them. And their goal? To prove that their coast is the best coast, to be crowned Best of the Beach, and win a beach vacation worth up to $25,000.

The East Coast team will consist of Jared Brown from Long Branch, NJ, Edward Lordman from Pensacola, FL, Ben Porter from Cape Cod, MA, and Jada Vidal from Tampa Bay, FL. The West Coast team will include Kaleena Bliss from Seattle, WA, Brian Madayag from Edmonds, WA, Joshua Mazoukes from San Diego, CA, and Jessica Roy from Newport Beach, CA.

Food Network announces new show, Beachside Brawl

For the premiere, chef Antonia will challenge the two teams to make a menu of dishes you would normally find on the boardwalk.  But they can’t simply make whatever they want; there are parameters. The menu must include one item on a stick, a fried item (a must!), an item on a bun, something cheesy, and a sweet treat.

The show will go on for six weeks with challenges ranging from seafood feasts on a budget and boardwalk bake sales to million-dollar yacht meals.

And of course, there will be judges to help pick who the ultimate winner will be. A guest judge will join chef Antonia each week. The roster of judges includes Noah Cappe, Rashida Holmes, Sabin Lomac, and Stephanie Boswell.

The show will air on Food Network and stream on discovery+.

This sounds like the perfect summer cooking competition show to get everyone excited about all the food we can make now that the weather is warmer.
