Dad deserves a special cocktail for Father’s Day. Whether he enjoys bourbon, gin, rum, tequila, vodka or Irish whiskey, we have a recipe using each of these spirits that will hopefully wow the special dad in your life! Enjoy one of these six Father’s Day cocktail recipes on June 19th or any day of the year and maybe gift dad a bottle of his favorite spirit.
Bourbon:
Bulleit Bourbon is an award winning, small-batch bourbon that is produced in Kentucky. According to the company website, “The subtlety and complexity of Bulleit Bourbon come from its unique blend of rye, corn, and barley malt, along with special strains of yeast and pure Kentucky limestone filtered water.” It has an especially high rye content and according to online reviews has a smooth and spicy finish.
Bulleit Bourbon Swizzle
Ingredients:
1.3 oz. Bulleit Bourbon
1 oz. Lemon Juice
0.75 oz. Simple Syrup
0.25 oz. Ginger Syrup
3 Mint Sprigs (take off leaves, remove stems)
3 Dashes Aromatic Bitters
3 Dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
Directions: Dry shake, pour into a highball glass, top with ice and swizzle, keeping the mint on the bottom and top with more crushed ice. Garnish with three dashes each of aromatics and Peychaud’s bitters, a mint sprig, and candied ginger. Enjoy!
Gin:
Aviation Gin was first produced in 2006 and actor Ryan Reynolds became a co-owner of the gin label in 2018. Last Father’s Day, he introduced The Vasectomy cocktail in a video tutorial. This year, Nick Cannon has stepped in to remake the cocktail in this funny video, noting: “Lord knows I need one.” The Masked Singer recently announced that he’s expecting his eighth child.
The Vasectomy
Ingredients:
Tall Glass of Ice
1 oz Cranberry Juice
3 oz Tonic
Dash of Lemon Juice
1.5 oz Aviation American Gin
Directions: Add all of the ingredients to a tall glass of ice and stir. You can garnish with an orange twist if you wish.

Rum:
BACARDÍ is the world’s largest privately-held spirits company with over 200 brands and labels. The below Rum Negroni recipe uses their Reserva Ocho Rum, which is also known as The Family Reserve. This rum is aged for a minimum of eight years and online reviews note a rich, complex flavor.
BACARDÍ Rum Negroni
Ingredients:
2 oz BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho Rum
1 oz MARTINI & ROSSI® Riserva Speciale Rubino
1 oz MARTINI & ROSSI® Bitter Liqueur
Method: Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, and stir until well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange wedge or twist.
Tequila:
1800 Tequila is a Mexican tequila named for the year that premium tequila was born. It is a 100% blue agave tequila. The Reposado used in the cocktail below is aged in American and French oak barrels for six months.
1800 Tequilada
Ingredients:
2 oz 1800 Reposado
.75 oz lime juice
.75 oz agave syrup
Pinch of salt
1 oz Mexican beer
Rocks glass
Instructions: In a shaker tin, combine 1800 Cristalino Tequila, fresh lime juice, agave syrup and a pinch of salt. Fill with ice and shake vigorously. Strain over fresh ice into rocks glass. Top with Mexican beer and lime wheel garnish.
Vodka:
NEFT Vodka is a small-batch, award-winning Austrian vodka. It is made from unmalted, Old-World rye grains which, according to their website, imparts “subtle sweetness and and a luxuriously lengthy finish of soft, rye spice.” It is uniquely packaged in a choice of black, white or Pride designed unbreakable aluminum barrels.
NEFT Dirty Double
Ingredients:
3oz NEFT Vodka
.75oz olive juice
Directions: Stir over ice and strain into rock’s glass with a single block of ice with an olive garnish.
Irish Whiskey:
Clonakilty Distillery opened in Ireland in 2018 and produces single pot still Irish whiskeys. The Distillery is founded by the Scully family, who are 9th-generation farmers. The Port Cask Whiskey used in the cocktail recipe below is made with a premium Irish malt and a 9 year old Irish grain.
The Clonakilty Old Fashioned
Ingredients:
2 oz Clonakilty Port Cask Whiskey
0.25 oz Demerara Syrup
4 dashes Angostura orange bitters
1 dash Angostura bitters
Grapefruit twist
Preparation: Pour into a rocks glass with a large ice cube.
