Klondike partnered with Buddy Valastro to celebrate 100 Years!

What would you do for a Klondike bar? Summer is in full swing and I’m all about cold, refreshing ice cream treats! The company has been making their classic ice cream bar squares since 1922. Although there are now several different varieties of the bars, including Heath, Reese’s and even minis, I’ve always been partial to the Krunch; vanilla ice cream squares coated in chocolate and topped with crispy, puffed rice.
Last week, Klondike kicked off their 100 year birthday celebration. In honor of this momentous occasion, they’ve partnered with Buddy Valastro, of “Cake Boss” fame! According to a recent press release that was shared with Guilty Eats, Valastro and Klondike have created a once-in-a-lifetime 100th birthday cake and are asking fans “What Would You Do” for a taste?
Do you want an opportunity to win a 6” special 100th Birthday cake made by Buddy Valastro? There are two ways to win. You can enter via Instagram by posting a photo or video of yourself completing one of the special decade-themed “What Would You Do for a Klondike?” challenges using #4aKlondike100Sweepstakes and tag @klondikebar. But hurry, because this sweepstakes is only taking place now through July 17th!
If you happen to be in New York City (at Washington Square Park), Los Angeles (at Third St. Promenade, Santa Monica) or Chicago (Navy Pier) you can complete a “What Would You Do for a Klondike?” challenge onsite. These pop-up locations will take place on National Ice Cream Day, July 17th, from 11 AM – 7 PM. Since it’s National Ice Cream Day, they will also be giving away free frozen treats!

So what types of decade-themed challenges are there? Challenges include dancing the foxtrot or rumba in public (1930’s), walking around all day in platforms (1970’s) or doing the mannequin challenge with 5 or more people (2010’s). There are also lots of challenges that require creating things with the ice cream foil wrapper. Can you make a bow tie (1920’s), a surfboard (1960’s) or butterfly clips (1990’s)?
Plus, there’s a bonus prize. One lucky fan will also be winning a Klondike Kard that comes with coupons and a check for free Klondike treats for one hundred years! That’s a LOT of ice cream!
