When it comes to fast food, fries are the absolute greatest! I know I’m not the only one who stops by their local fast food drive-thru for an order of fries (and our favorite drink). But which location is offers the best fries?

No matter what we buy from our favorite fast food restaurant, no order is complete without a side of french fries. But there’s no denying that each fast food chain prepares fries differently, they’re not all the same. Before we dive into the most popular fast food fries, think about which fries are your ultimate favorite! Then, take a guess at which fries are the most popular in the state you live in to see if you got it right according to a graphic from Take Spruce.

Which fast food restaurant has the best fries?

You can find all of the results HERE, but we’ll cover the most popular, below. Just by looking at the map the source provides, McDonald’s appears to be the most popular, and sure enough, it’s the favorite of 16 states out of the 50.

Burger King, Jack in the Box, and Taco Bell are also pretty popular. Sonic, Chick-fil-A, and Whataburger are only picked by one state. Can you say underrated? Also, who prefers McDonald’s fries out of everything else that’s available? A shame. Explore your options, people! Don’t sleep on Whataburger fries! But hey, we’re not here to judge too much! Let’s check out some of the states and which fries they prefer.

In California, Jack in the Box is a fan favorite, while Florida prefers Chick-fil-A. Louisiana is all about Popeyes (and we have to agree there), while Texas can’t get enough Whataburger fries! As a Texan, I agree here. Whataburger fries and the spicy ketchup? The perfect duo. New York’s favorite fries are from Shake Shack, but New Jersey prefers Popeye’s.

July 13 is National French Fry Day, so why not celebrate with a large side of your favorite fast food french fries?

What do you think about these results? Did they get your state (and personal taste) correct?
