It’s all about a “Party on the Plate” in the fifth episode of The Great American Recipe. And in this teaser, we get to learn a bit more about Silvia.
With just six home cooks left in the competition, it is more important than ever to bring it with every dish. And that means not just bringing the flavors to the table, it also means bringing yourself.
In the fifth episode of The Great American Recipe, that means creating a “Party on a Plate.” But what does this mean? Well we will have to wait to find out, but in the meantime, we have a really emotional clip featuring one of the fan favorite cooks to tide us over with.
The Great American Recipe brings the emotions with Silvia’s story about what her dish represents
We love learning more about the different home cooks on The Great American Recipe, and in this clip it really is all about Silvia. When the judges come over to find out what she is cooking for them, they ask what it is about the dish that makes her think of a party.
This is where she dives into the meaning of her dish. And that meaning has a lot to do with becoming a citizen of the United States of America. After getting her citizenship, she explained that she came home and decided to honor her home country of Mexico as well. As she pointed out while she may be an American now, she is also Mexican and this dish is a way to honor all of the parts that make her who she is.
