Mac and cheese is the ultimate comfort food. It’s a dish loved by both children and adults alike. Having two teens in my house, boxed mac and cheese is a staple. However, I’m not a huge fan of all the preservatives and calories that many boxed brands have. Luckily, I just learned about Goodles.

Goodles was founded by several notable individuals: Israeli actress and model Gal Gadot, former Annie’s President Deb Luster, Jen Zeszut, former CEO of companies like Cerebelly and Beckon, Paul Earle, brand entrepreneur and professor at Northwestern and Molly Michet, R&D Leader and food scientist formerly of Dreyers, CLIF Bar and Plum Organics. The company launched in November 2021, and has created what they claim is a healthier version of mac and cheese.

The Goodles name is a play on “noodles made gooder.” How do they make their noodles “gooder” you ask? Their special noodles contain protein, fiber, and prebiotics. They are made with 21 nutrients from plants and have fewer calories than many of the other boxed mac and cheese found on store shelves. They are also the first boxed mac and cheese to receive the Clean Label Purity Award.

Goodles is a more nutritious mac and cheese!

I was recently able to sample a variety of products from Goodles. The first thing you notice is the design of the packaging. The brightly colored boxes are visually appealing. Then you notice their fun names. There are four varieties: Shella Good, Cheddy Mac, Twist My Parm, and Mover & Shaker.

The Cheddy Mac variety is their take on traditional boxed mac and cheese. While I liked this one, the veggie flavor of the pasta is more pronounced than the other flavors. This was the least liked by the teens.

Shella Good is an aged white cheddar mac and cheese. This variety is also very similar to the traditional boxed mac and cheese you’re accustomed to.

Twist My Parm is made with an Asiago and Parmesan cheese blend. It has a mild cheese flavor that we all enjoyed.

Move & Shaker is a cacio e pepe-inspired mac and cheese. The entire family agreed that this was our favorite flavor. It’s such a unique flavor for boxed mac and cheese.

Vegans don’t have to miss out on all the fun! Vegan is Believin’ is their plant-based, dairy-free mac and cheese.

As you get ready for the last BBQs of the season, Goodles mac and cheese will make a tasty addition to your spread. Goodles even created a special Spotify Backyard BBQ playlist for your end-of-summer gatherings that will have everyone on their feet dancing and singing along.

Goodles can currently be purchased on the company website in packs of 4 or 12, with the option to purchase a variety pack, so you can sample all four (non-vegan) flavors. They are also available in Target stores and have just officially launched at Whole Foods Markets nationwide, where Vegan is Believin’ can also be purchased.
