OREO recommends a non-milk cookie dipping option that we are not here for

When it comes to food related social media accounts, we expect to see releases, teases, and even tips and tricks. And usually OREO delivers all of those things and more.

But on August 22, it seems like the OREO social media team woke up and chose chaos instead. What do we mean by this?

Well in their latest video posted to Instagram, they offered up a whole new suggestion for what we should be dipping our OREO cookies in that is not milk. And while the OREO flavor they chose does make sense for the liquid in question, we are still not okay with this.

OREO suggests a drink other than milk for dipping one of their OREO flavors

You see, their suggestion is for us to take the Lemon flavor of OREO cookies and dipping it in a glass of ice cold lemonade. According to the caption for the video, “When life gives you Lemon OREO Cookies, dunk them in lemonade.”

And in the actual video captions, they claim that this dipping duo is actually refreshing. Now I don’t know about anyone else, but dipping a cookie in a drink that is mostly a water based drink does not sound like a good idea or a refreshing one.

But we are not alone in thinking this duo is not the way. In fact, the comments section of the post is littered with people saying “no,” “Jail. now,” “stop it now,” and even one commenter pointing out that, “they LITERALLY have lemon flavored oreo cookies. I[‘d] rather have that than an oreo soaked in lemonade.”

When it comes to ideas or tips, this one seems to be a fail just based on how the brand’s social media followers are reacting to the video. And while there were a few positive reactions to this dipping duo, they seemed to be few and far between when it came to the comments section.

We are definitely not fans of this suggestion and we are obviously not the only ones who are not loving it.

We love the brand and their cookies, but this idea might just be a misstep. But we want to know what you think. Would you dip a lemon flavored cookie in lemonade? Have you tried this before or will you?
