Cookbook Review: Rosanna Pansino’s Nerdy Nummies Cookbook is a fun way to get into baking
It’s time for a throwback cookbook review. And for this one, we are throwing it back to 2015 and the debut of Rosanna Pansino’s Nerdy Nummies Cookbook.
When it comes to good books in general, we love ones that can stand the test of time. And while most cookbooks actually can handle the years going by without losing their luster (if you will), there is something about Nerdy Nummies that we really love.
Perhaps it is the fact that Nerdy Nummies started as her YouTube baking program before developing into a cookbook. Or maybe it is the fact that Rosanna Pansino is just a lot of fun all around. Whatever it is, this is one of those cookbooks that is actually a lot of fun, while also being great for learning more about getting to work in the kitchen
Nerdy Nummies by Rosanna Pansino is perfect for bringing the fun in the kitchen
Having watched Pansino in any number of her YouTube and Instagram videos, as well as on her competition series, Baketopia (RIP), we realized that we needed to snag one of her cookbooks for ourselves. And what better cookbook to choose first than her Nerdy Nummies cookbook? (It is her first cookbook after all.)
For us, there was a lot to love when it came to fun, sweet treats. And if you are looking for a cookbook that focuses on baked goods, and yes those sweet treats, then this is the cookbook for you.
Some of our favorite recipes include:
- Apple Pi Pie
- Moon Phase Macarons
- Unicorn Poop Cookies
- Zombie Brain Cake
- Fantasy Sweet Rolls
- HP Candy Bars
- Awkward Penguin Cookies
- Smart Cookies
- 8-Bit Heart Cocoa
- Nerd Bird Cupcakes
- Textbook S’mores
Honestly, the fun of this cookbook is less about creating something completely new as it is taking the things we already know how to make and taking them in a creative new direction. And yes, there are recipes for those classic treats at the beginning of the cookbook so that you have the base for all of the fun treats and creations.
We loved the creativity of this cookbook and just how vibrant it is. And it is definitely a cookbook we are happy to have on our shelves!
If you loved Baketopia or you are a fan of Rosanna Pansino, we definitely think this cookbook is a must-have. It is definitely so much more fun than we have ever had in the kitchen.
What do you think fellow cookbook lovers and guilty eaters? Do you have Nerdy Nummies? If not, are you thinking of snagging a copy for yourself? We want to know.
