It’s time for the MasterChef “Restaurant Takeover” episode of the Back to Win season

If there is one episode we wait for during every season of MasterChef, it would have to be the “Restaurant Takeover” episode. And we have officially hit that point in the Back to Win season.

With the top six taking the kitchen on MasterChef, it is time for a takeover! And in this case, the restaurant that they are taking over is none other than Spago – Wolfgang Puck’s New American restaurant.

If ever there was an iconic restaurant for the MasterChef cheftestants to take over, it would absolutely be Spago. And they will have to bring it if they want to make it into the top five.

After Amanda and Derrick’s shocking elimination in The Wall challenge, there was truly no telling what could be coming next or who might be sent home next. So who are the teams for this challenge? And how did the episode shake out? Let’s take a look!

The top six chefs take on the MasterChef “Restaurant Takeover” challenge

Repping for the Blue Team for this week’s challenge were Shanika, Michael and Willie which means that the Red Team consisted of Dara, Christian, and Emily. And if you’re asking, yes this meant that teammates from The Wall challenge turned into opponents which made for quite an interesting dynamic in this episode.

Across the episode, both teams had their ups and downs but it was the blue team that found themselves as the losers in the challenge putting Shanika, Michael and Willie in danger of being sent home.

Due to his inability to lead his team in a way that empowered each member, it was Willie who was sent home at the end of the night.
