Bobby Flay opening first Phoenix location next year
By D. Goodman
It’s been an interesting couple of years for culinary superstar Bobby Flay. He closed his iconic Mesa Grill Vegas restaurant and started a podcast with his daughter Sophie. Then there was the whole “Bobby Flay is leaving Food Network” and “Bobby Flay is staying with Food Network” affair.
Now it would appear Flay is once again focused on expanding his restaurant empire, in particular his Bobby’s Burgers brand. The superstar chef recently overhauled the fast casual concept and earlier this year announced he was opening one in Harrah’s in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
And now the chef has revealed that another Bobby’s Burgers will be opening early next year. However, this time it will be in a brand new location that hasn’t experienced a Bobby Flay restaurant before, Phoenix, Arizona.
Bobby Flay will open the brand new Bobby’s Burgers in early 2023.
The new Bobby’s Burgers will be opening at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in the brand new Southwest Airlines Crystals Food Court. The new food court is modeled to remind customers of a desert with views of Camelback Mountain.
For those who may not already be in the know, Bobby’s Burgers features an array of burgers (hence the name) that you won’t find anywhere else. The chain’s signature item is the Crunch Burger which comes topped with potato chips. There is also the Brunch Burger, which is topped with an egg and a Barbecue Smokehouse Burger.
According to a press release, Flay is excited to expand to the Phoenix market and feed hungry travelers.
"“This is the first airport location of our new and bright concept, and I am very excited to launch at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. We focused and dialed in our concept to satisfy many hungry travelers. We are so excited and just getting started.”"
The new Bobby’s Burgers in Phoenix is expected to open in the first quarter of 2023.
