Hell’s Kitchen Battle of the Ages: Who is Chef Zeus Gordiany?
Welcome to Season 21 of one of America’s favorite fast-paced and super intense cooking shows with an old vs. new twist this year: Hell’s Kitchen Battle of the Ages! On this season of Hell’s Kitchen, there is a team of 40-something year-old chefs and a team of 20-something year-old chefs, battling it out to become one of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s next prodigies/superstars.
With week two coming to a close, two chefs have already been eliminated. While most people would think one chef eliminated per episode, this week, that proved to be different because two chefs went home in one episode!
Let’s dive into who the second chef who was sent home is: Chef Zeus Gordiany!
What are your thoughts on Hell’s Kitchen Battle of the Ages thus far? Let’s chat!
Who is Zeus? What’s his story? Why is he here on Hell’s Kitchen? Let’s find all of that out and so much more down below…here we go!
Where is Zeus Gordiany from?
Hailing all the way from Milford, Delaware, Chef Zeus was hoping to prove that he had what it took. Not only was he the oldest chef in the entire competition, but he also felt like he had something to prove, following a shark attack incident that nearly took part of his skull.
How old is Chef Zeus?
He is forty-eight years old, but said he felt like the youngest one there because of how much of a kid at heart that he truly feels that he is.
Before coming onto Hell’s Kitchen, what was his occupation?
Chef Zeus Gordiany works as an Executive Chef at a restaurant back home.
What was his Signature Dish Challenge score and how’d he do?
During the coveted and ever-so-famous Signature Dish Challenge during the first episode, Zeus seemed to already be proving himself worthy from Gordon Ramsay. He cooked up some Bangers and Mash, which was a familiar back-at-home dish for Chef Ramsay. Ramsay liked it so much that he gave him a well-earned 4 out of 5 stars. At this point, I thought he had quite the chance to make it far.
Why was he eliminated?
Well, folks. He did something that you should never do, not only if you ever find yourself on a reality television show, but also in life. What did he do? He gave up.
After a terrible dinner service that got the blue team kicked out and sent back to the dorms, Zeus presented himself to Chef Ramsay, as well as O’Shay and Charlene (the two chefs on the brink of elimination), as one of the options to be sent home, saying that the other to chefs wanted it and deserved it more than he did.
Among other things, and much to my surprise and dismay, this is what he said upon exiting Hell’s Kitchen:
"“You’re only as good as your last service. After tonight’s service, I felt a little ill. Look, it’s hard. It’s called Hell’s Kitchen for a reason. This heat here, it was just something I didn’t want a part of.”"
It seems to me that Mr. Zeus over here had just simply forgotten what being on Hell’s Kitchen was all about. If he didn’t like it or couldn’t take the heat, then he should’ve just left instead of embarrassing himself on national television.
Oh well, maybe he can go take a vacation in The Bahamas and swim with some sharks for fun!
